13 pumpkin bins of food collected at west side food drive

An incredible 13 pumpkin bins of food was collected at the Helping Hands west Cochrane food drive over the weekend. 

That is up from 10.5 pumpkin bins from the same areas last year. 

Volunteers picked up food from West Valley, West Terrace, West Pointe, Heartland, Heritage Hills, Bow Meadows, Bow Ridge and Jumping Pound on Saturday. 

The food goes to the Cochrane Activettes Food Bank to help feed countless people in the Cochrane area. 

The next food drive will be in north Cochrane on Sept. 21. 

It will cover Cochrane Heights, Sunterra Heights, Sunset Ridge, Monterra, and Western Rocky View County.
