At approximately 8 a.m. Friday, Cochrane RCMP were notified of a stolen vehicle that had evaded the Calgary Police Service (CPS) and was now in the Town of Cochrane vicinity.

The CPS HAWCS helicopter was tracking the stolen vehicle, identified as an F150 work truck belonging to a company in Calgary.

"A male and female were occupants of the vehicle, at one point the female was seen hanging off the truck." stated the RCMP.

A joint effort involving Cochrane RCMP and Calgary Police Service units led to the discovery of the stolen vehicle on a dead-end street in the Cochrane community of Heartland.

The man was apprehended at the scene, while the woman was taken into custody by police nearby.

No one was injured.

“This was an excellent end to a potentially dangerous situation, where there were no injuries to people or property”, said Cst. Clayton Gelinas.

The suspects were taken to Calgary to be formally charged.
