A fog advisory for the Cochrane area was put into effect at 8:21 pm this evening (January 15).

Environment Canada issued the weather statement due to visibility currently nearing zero in some areas already or within the hours that lie ahead.

With parts of Central and Southern Alberta covered under a blanket of fog, motorists are advised to take it easy on the roadways tonight and into their morning commute as within the fog, there is also a risk of patchy freezing drizzle.

Make sure your headlights are on, slow down, watch for tail lights in front of you, and be prepared to stop.

Environment Canada has stated the fog should lift by late morning (January 16).

  • Mountain View Co. near Carstairs and Stirlingville
  • Mountain View Co. near Cremona and Water Valley
  • Mountain View Co. near Olds and Didsbury
  • Mountain View Co. near Sundre
  • Rocky View Co. near Airdrie and Crossfield
  • Rocky View Co. near Bottrel and Madden
  • Rocky View Co. near Cochrane
