Dozens of animals, weapons, vehicles and trailers were seized during the search of a property north of Cochrane earlier this week. 

After a Foothills County man was arrested on Monday in connection with a police probe into property crime in Mountain View County, authorities searched a nearby property. 

During the search, a long-list of stolen items was seized. 

  • Six stolen trucks, including a Blazer, GMC Sierra, Chevrolet Silverado, and Dodge Ram
  • Four utility trailers
  • A Polaris ATV
  • A Raptor Keystone RV
  • Two flat deck trailers
  • Two shotguns
  • A bolt action rifle
  • Two .22 calibre rifles
  • Thousands of rounds of ammunition.
  • Six industrial heaters
  • A red Norco Sight vlt 12 speed Mountain Bike (serial number removed and RCMP are still trying to locate owners)

Forty-four-year-old Michael McGill of Mountain View County has been charged with Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000, Fail to Comply with a Release Order and Unauthorized Possession of a Firearm.

He is scheduled to appear in court in Airdrie today. 

"RCMP discovered numerous animals on the property in distress and have partnered with the Alberta SPCA. Fifty-six dogs of various breeds were seized from the property, as well as 10 sheep, nine llamas, four chickens, and three geese." stated a news release from the RCMP.

On Monday, Clayton Whaling, a 43-year-old resident of Foothills County was arrested and charged with three counts of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime Over $5000.

He is scheduled to appear in court in Airdrie on May 23.
