Tourism Week runs from May 23 to 30 but the Cochrane Tourism Association has been working hard to bring awareness to all the great things Cochrane has to offer tourists and locals all year long.

The Cochrane Tourism Association has not been resting on its laurels during the pandemic.

They have been using the time to create an informative and enticing way to inform Cochranites and travellers about ways to explore Cochrane this summer.

The CTA is in a new pilot for what is called the Tourism Product Mentor Program. It is an accelerator-style cohort with existing businesses. The idea is for businesses to create a new revenue stream and a new offer for their business which is then marketed by the Tourism Association. The program ran for six months as the pilot from October 2020 to March 2021 and they have seven new packages and experiences that are ready to be launched.

Executive Director, of the CTA, Jo-Anne Oucharek says, “We want to bring light to all those great things that people can experience in their backyard this summer and really support that still shop local and check out all the new things that happened.”

The CTA in association with local Cochrane businesses has been developing new offerings that would appeal to everyone while putting Cochrane on the map as a destination location.

Everyone can be excited about the seven new products and experiences that will be available (of course, dependent upon COVID restrictions):

● Rafting on the Bow with Hunter Valley Adventures

● Alberta Experience Weekend getaways at The Crossing at Ghost River

● Ladies’ Pamper Packages by Pure Anada (Featuring The Cave and My Greek Plate)

● The Crystal Cavern Wellness Sessions at Spirit of Oneness

● Western Branding Experience at Stockmen’s Memorial Foundation

● Artist events at Route 22 Artist Collective

● Cochrane Food Fest (August 14, 2021)
