An upcoming event is aiming at bringing women together to bond with their friends, and make new ones.

The Opulence Alliance Girlfriends Gathering and Women's Show is on Sunday, Oct. 2 at the Cochrane Ranchehouse, featuring empowering guest speakers, live demos, and 45 booths.

Representative Kendra Kane says the event is more than just a trade show.

"The whole premise of these Girlfriends Gathering events is for women to connect, empower, and support together," she says. "We try to make it more of an experience, than just coming down, checking out booths and calling it a day."

Kane explains the Keynote speakers will focus in on empowerment in tough economic times.

"It really is all about women stepping back into themselves, and us being us. More confident, more powerful, more goal oriented, I mean our economy sort of sets everybody in a down low, and we sort of lose ourselves. Especially women, because we're the caregivers, and we lose ourselves in that."

There will also be a girl talk session about hormones, dealing with them, and embracing them.
