One of the biggest fundraisers put on by the Cochrane Lions Club is just around the corner.

The annual Spring Barn Dance with live music & dancing will go on April 20th.

President Chris Connon says they've been putting on this event since 2017 and it always brings out the best crowd.

"You end up with a mix of people right from 18 to 80. TC & Company plays good old honkytonk tunes, The Butchery Block is usually involved and they have the typical cabaret food, burgers, hotdogs, etc. And then there's the bar. It's great to just get out and visit everybody you haven't seen all winter."

It's one of the major fundraisers of the year for the club, says Connon.

"It would be nice to raise $15,000 to $20,000. We've done it before, and it's nice because it usually goes into kids' events at the Labor Day Rodeo. We use this to increase what happens that weekend for the community."

The club donates over $100,000 back into the community annually according to Connon.

Tickets are sale for the 18+ dance on Showpass.

The dance will take part at the Cochrane Lions Club Event Centre.
