The Cochrane Water Ninjas Lifesaving Sports Club has returned with its third consecutive Alberta/NWT lifesaving championship.

Over the course of the competition, the team earned 23 gold, 21 silver, and 26 bronze medals, broke five provincial records and scored 2,486 points.

“For some of these athletes, this is their first provincial level competition” states head coach Alexx Diep in a new release. “I am very proud of them for their performance at this event; many walked away with PB’s (personal bests) and several long-standing club records were shattered. It was fantastic to witness their growth and achievements throughout the season and this weekend was very reflective of their journey.”

While provincials mark the end of the regular season, a contingent of Water Ninjas will be competing in the Canadian Pool Lifesaving Championships in Victoria. B.C. in June. Last year, the team placed third in the nation and won the national title the season before.
