An online survey has been launched to get Canadian's views on a food policy for the country.
It will be the first-of-its-kind for the federal Government, which says it represents an important step in tackling the opportunities and challenges of Canada's food system.
Minister of Agriculture and Agri-Food, Lawrence MacAulay IS encouaging everyone to take part in the development of the policy.
Canadians are being asked to submit their input which will be used to build a food policy that explores four themes:
increasing access to affordable food;
improving health and food safety;
conserving our soil, water, and air; and
growing more high-quality food.
The Government Will also be hosting A Food Policy for Canada Summit in Ottawa June 22 and 23, 2017. The Summit is designed to provide a space for stakeholders, experts, and key policy makers to share their views on the policy.
