Nathan Peacock, of Trinity Taekwon-Do, had a strong showing at the ITF World Championship in Finland.

Peacock represented Canada in a large sparring division of over 40 athletes in the 63-69 kg weight class.

He was successful in his opening match against an opponent from the host country of Finland.

It was a great battle and a hard-earned victory for Peacock, says Cameron Macdonald, head coach and VI degree black belt of Trinity Taekwon-Do.

"Even though it was 4 a.m. here, we were cheering loudly for him at my house."

He was once again successful in round two, this time against an opponent from China.

Peacock went up against a challenging competitor from Scotland in round 3, who after the 2 x 2 min. rounds, took the victory away from Peacock.

He also competed in the team sparring event for Canada. After five matches, they were eliminated in round one by England.

Macdonald says Peacock had another strong showing on the competition floor.

"We are so proud of him and look forward to what the future brings," says Macdonald.
