The USask Huskies rebounded from a loss in the opening game of the USports women's hockey championship to advance to consolation final. 

Today, the Huskies lost a heated 4-1 consolation final against their arch-rivals the UBC Thunderbirds, who won the Canada West championship and were seeded second in the nation.

The Huskies claimed a 3-1 over the fifth-seeded St. Francis X-Women on Mar. 16 that ended the team's three-game scoreless and advanced them to the consolation final. Cochrane's Kara Kondrat assisted on the powerplay assurance goal with six minutes remaining in play.

The Huskies were shut out in their opening game 4-0 by the Concordia Stingers, who went on to win the championship with a 3-1 win over the Toronto Varsity Blues.

The Huskies were ranked eighth coming into the championship and hosted the championship.
