Gleneagle has had its power restored after a seven-and-a-half-hour outage today.

It has been a rough ride in the easterly neighbourhood of Cochrane since extremely cold conditions set in on Friday. On Jan. 13, they had a five-hour outage that Fortis Alberta officials say was unrelated.

This morning, emergency repairs began for a power outage that initially impacted 1,927 Fortis Alberta customers, including those in Gleneagles, a small portion of Rocky View County, and a few Calgary residents. The outage impacted the 91.5 FM Cochrane Now tower, taking the radio station off-air until mid-afternoon.
