It was an all-Rocky View final for the ASAA South Central Zone girls soccer championship, hosted by Cochrane High, Oct. 13 to 14.
The Springbank Phoenix went home with gold after defeating the Cochrane Cobras. The HTA Knights won bronze in their medal match against Canmore Collegiate Wolverines.
The top two teams from both Rocky View and Foothills divisions competed for the banner.
The Phoenix and Cobras are long-time arch rivals in girls soccer and there's a good chance they'll meet up again this week for the Rocky View championship.
The Phoenix are undefeated on the season and the Cobras' only losses have come against Springbank.
Tuesday afternoon (Oct. 17), the Cobras host the 4 and 2 George McDougall Mustangs in the semifinals.
The Phoenix host the Bert Church Chargers (3-3) in the other semifinal matchup.
The medal games are on Oct. 19.
