Many of your fictional favourites will be lacing up their skates and performing this Saturday afternoon (Mar. 23) in the Cochrane Skating Club's presentation of Fictional Fantasy on Ice.

It's a highly-anticipated ice carnival that happens only ever two years and involves every member of the skating club.

The performance starts at 1 p.m. in the Cochrane Arena and features performances based on memorable characters from storybooks.

"There are lots of favourite storybooks, and so we're super excited," says Karen Ellison, Cochrane director of StarSkate. "We have from Winnie the Pooh, Paddington Bear, Willy Wonka, and the seniors will be skating to a Hungry Games piece."

"It involves all of our skaters from pre-CanSkate, which are three-year-olds, all the way up to our senior StarSkate members," "It's a really awesome way to wind the season down and showcase the talent in the club."

Guest performers are international skating professionals William Oddson and Savanna Martel. Together, the Canadian pair will do a dance exhibition, and Oddson will perform a freeskate exhibition.

The four skaters who recently competed in the StarSkate provincials will also be performing their solos.

Admission is a mere $5 and ages 5 and under will be admitted free of charge. Tickets will be available at the door.
