RCMP have recovered a dozen stolen pickup trucks from the Calgary area from a Vulcan County property in what is believed to be a chop shop.

In addition, the RCMP recovered a stolen travel trailer, two stolen utility trailers, and two stolen dirt bikes.

All registered owners of the vehicles and trailers have been notified.

The bust resulted from the RCMP attending a property in rural Vulcan on Apr. 7 after receiving a complaint of a stolen vehicle. An RCMP officer sustained minor injuries after giving chase to a male driver fleeing the scene in a stolen GMC Sierra pickup.

The Southern Alberta District Crime Reduction Unit (SAD CRU), with the assistance of the RCMP Auto Theft Unit and Vulcan RCMP, executed a search warrant at the rural Vulcan County property following the arrest.

William McIntosh, 30, of Okotoks, faces seven charges stemming from the thefts, his attempted to flea from the RCMP and possession of crystal meth and fentanyl.

McIntosh has been remanded into custody and is scheduled to appear in the Lethbridge court on Apr. 26.
