A cougar warning is in place for Paddy's Flat Campground after a walker with dogs reported being trailed by a cougar.

The advisory, issued on Tuesday, December 19, will remain until further notice.

The campground is located in the Elbow River Provincial Recreation Area, approximately 13.2 kilometres west of Bragg Creek.

Park authorities emphasize that while there is a specific advisory for this area, cougars may be encountered anywhere in the Kananaskis region and at any time.

To minimize the risk of unexpected encounters, it is recommended to generate ample noise and travel in groups.

Additionally, it is advised to keep pets on a leash.

If you spot any cougars, you're asked to report sightings to 403-591-7755.
