While property tax notices have been issued yet for 2024, the planning process for the 2025 budget is currently underway.

Once again, the town is inviting residents to provide feedback on services in the first step in developing the next three-year operational budget.

The online survey went line yesterday and will remain open until May 8.

Those completing the survey will be eligible to enter a draw to win a gift certificate to a local Cochrane business of your choice valued at $150.

To participate, residents can use the QR code or text link on the postcard delivered to each residence later this week or visit www.letstalkcochrane.

Additionally, the research firm Advanis a will be conducting a random telephone survey with Cochrane residents over the age of 18.

Seeking an understanding of the community's desired level of service in advance of budget preparations was instituted by CAP Mike Derricott in 2021. It's since been outsourced to a third-party consultant to ensure the questions and results are statistically valid.

Survey results will be presented to council for consideration.

Administration will draft the 2025-2027 budget over the summer and provide a draft budget to council in the fall. The budget is debated in November and typically finalized in December.
