Jeff Catto will take the stage this summer at the Bow Valley Boot Stomp music festival and stopped by 91.5FM CochraneNow to show off a new song Cochranites will be able to see live this July called "Out Of My Head".

“I've been doing this for about 22 years now.” says the singer-songwriter from Calgary. “I have been writing songs for other people for a really long time, like Aaron Pritchett or [Gord] Bamford and Dallas Smith. But, I’m finding my voice and my stuff now.”

“I’ve been releasing music for a long time, so this is kind of neat to finally have this happen and we're getting ready for tour season playing a lot of shows between May and August and September, so it's gonna be pretty wild actually.”

Between playing across the province and opening for Rascal Flatts' Gary LeVox, Catto will be part of the Saturday Boot Stomp line-up and says he can’t wait to bring the party to Cochrane this summer.

“I'm there! You'll be able to see me jumping around the stage, being wild and crazy. it's gonna be a blast.”

Originally from Ontario, Catto now calls Calgary home along with his six kids. His latest single "Out Of My Head" (featured in the video above) marks a change of sound for the artist.

“All my music was very family-oriented and kind of lighter,” he says. “We moved out to Alberta and then pretty much instantly got divorced. So, it was just a really hard time. This new song is basically just, it's finding a different voice within me."

“One person put it the other day of like, writing a sad, tough love song is something like you're being a voice for the voiceless. For people that have gone through those things and it really resonates with people even more than the love songs do.”
