Tonight is the night! Just over two years since the construction of the $53 million dollar project began, the Jack Tennant Memorial Bridge will open after an event this evening.

The event will feature speeches and an opening ceremony which will be capped off with a light and fireworks show.

The ceremony will start at 6:30 p.m. and will run approximately an hour, While VIP guests will be permitted on the bridge ramp, there will be limited space for the general public to attend as per COVID-19 restrictions.

The lights and fireworks show will begin at 7 p.m. The show should be visible from the majority of the east side of town, but a good way to gauge the visibility, if you can see the new bridge, you will see the show.

A light display will then run until 11 p.m. this evening after which the bridge will be open to public traffic.
