Snow hit the Rockies in south Kananaskis last Tuesday, Sept. 19.

While it wasn't much more than a skiff of snow along the mountain tops like Mount Armstrong there was a bit more a few days later at Mount Rae and Rae Glacier.

Last week also had some overnight lows that brought heavy frost throughout K-country.

The Old Farmer's Almanac is predicting a long, cold winter.

The first official day of Fall was Saturday, Sept. 23, and the expected overnight temperatures will hover near single digits with an overnight low of only 2°C this Thursday.

The changing colours of the larch also have people flocking to Kananaskis to hike the trails and snap photos. 

Ptarmigan Cirque Trail was packed with visitors and tour groups however, larch can also be viewed along the 9km Mist Ridge Trail as the following panorama shows.
