For the Cochrane Lions Rodeo Queen Riley Larsen, 2023 was a whirlwind year.

“It was fantastic,” says Queen Riley. “You're doing so many events and you're running around in so many different places, and it goes by really, really fast.”

“It's been a blink of an eye, but it's been really awesome because there's so many great community events that I get the opportunity to attend in comparison to other places and titles you can hold.”

Taking over the title just about four months ago, Queen Riley immediately grabbed the reins of becoming a major representative of the Cochrane community.

“We have a lot of events planned, not only just within our community, which I really love, but there is going to be a lot of rodeo stuff, especially in the spring and summer.”

Along with her royal duties, Riley works full-time at a vet in Calgary.

“We're going to spend a lot of time at like the stampede and a whole bunch of different local rodeos all the way down to like Tabor and Edmonton and all that stuff. So it'll keep me very busy, but it's gonna go by fast.”

“Cochrane has been an amazing opportunity to spend my time and just looking forward to the rest of 2024.”
