A boil water advisory has been issued for homes supplied by the Salt Box Coulee Waterworks System and various Rocky View County water systems due to an issue with their water supply.

These water systems include:

  • Salt Box Coulee Waterworks System
  • Calling Horse Estates Waterworks System
  • Windmill Water Coop Waterworks
  • Deer Springs

Residents and businesses receiving water from these systems are advised to ensure the safety of their water by bringing it to a rolling boil for at least one minute before consuming it.

This includes:

  • drinking
  • brushing teeth
  • cleaning raw foods
  • preparing infant formula or juices
  • making ice, etc.

Water intended for bathing or laundry does not require boiling. However, for handwashing, it is recommended to use soap and water followed by an alcohol-based hand sanitizer containing over 60 per cent alcohol after drying hands.

AHS

During this advisory, residents can use bottled water for drinking purposes if preferred.

"Corrective action is taking place to address this matter and restore appropriate water supply. The advisory will remain in place until such time that water is restored and water quality assured. AHS Environmental Public Health officers will continue to monitor the situation, including sampling and testing of the drinking water to ensure it is safe for consumption." stated a news release from Rocky View County.

This advisory will remain in effect until further notice.
