The Elain family had the honour of being crowned the Parade Marshals for the 54th Annual Cochrane Labour Day Parade earlier this year. Along with being the main event of the parade held in September, the Elain family was able to donate the entry fees from the event to a charity of their choice.

"My dad still has to smile if you bring it up, he's beaming," says Mike Elain looking back at his family's time as marshals. "It's something that was once in a lifetime and it's just a special honour that he was so privileged to be part of."

"I'm telling you right now, he can't and he will not stop laughing or talking about it. He's got a huge smile on his face, you can't take it off."

The Elain family was able to wrap up their time as marshals by presenting a cheque for $2,750 to Bethany Cochrane.

"My mom and dad love Bethany so much. We have friends that are in there and my mom and dad just want to show support and let them know that there are people that love them and want to support them and see them."
