Mayor Jeff Genung once again opened the floor to questions during the town's weekly update on Thursday, May 28. After providing a COVID 19 update, he was almost please to address questions that were common prior to the onset of the pandemic.

A sense of return to a new normal saw the popular question asked with regards to the intersection of Highway 22 and the 1A. Mayor Genung's response was, "We are right on schedule, next spring we can hope to see some activity on the 1A and 22. So we are working with Alberta Transportation to finalize the design which we have added as a community the extension of 22 north up to the second intersection at Sunset Blvd."

Another question was with regards to the pathway from Heartland over the train tracks and the Mayor is hopeful there will be a ribbon cutting ceremony and official opening in June.

With regards to the Jack Tennant Bridge, it is on schedule and on budget and should be opening this fall.

Mayor Genung mentioned that they may be changing the format of the weekly update and to stay tuned for those changes. For more information and to see the full video click here.
