Town council will be receiving some insight tonight (Apr. 15) on what's involved in becoming a city.

Brett Hawken, manager of Legislative Services, is scheduled to appear at the committee of the whole meeting to give an overview of what's involved in changing to city status.

It may also lay to rest the question of whether or not we'd get a bigger hand out from the provincial government.

Council has a packed agenda to informally discuss a multitude of topics, including the Hwy. 22-Riverview syphon, several housing developments, including Southbow Landing, The Willows and Robinson Lands, the Whistleblower program and policy and the future Jumpstart multi-use court.

No decisions are formalized at committee-of-the-whole meetings and instead offers council a chance to informally discussion issues and gain insight before any formal decisions are reached.
