Rocky View Schools (RVS) is seeking input from parents, students, staff, caregivers and the community at large in regards to the 2018/19 and 2019/20 school years.

Assistant Superintendent of Schools, Murray Besenski, shares they like to get as much feedback as possible on the drafts. "In the past, we've surveyed regarding the calendar prior to sending it out but we don't usually get quite as many individuals responding as we do when people have something to look at and give comments on."

Sending out multiple year calendars and approving them is a top goal, shares Besenski, who understands the importance of long-term planning for families in the division. "Multiple years is our ultimate goal so parents, community members, staff, and students etc. can look at our website and see in advance to plan their holidays or plan their work schedules accordingly."

RVS tries to keep the calendars fairly consistent from year to year and when they can, they try to plan for the First Day of Back to School to fall after Labour Day weekend.
