Traffic was tied up yesterday afternoon (January 8) for quite awhile as RCMP responded to a motor vehicle collision between two motorists.

The first accident at the dreaded Highway 1A/22 intersection for 2018 occurred just after 4 pm and traffic was still slowed almost two hours later.

Constable Simon with Cochrane RCMP says a ticket was issued. "One of the cars turned left in front of the other and the ended up in a head-on collision. No one was seriously injured and no one ended up at the hospital."

RCMP share it took a long time to get traffic flow back up to its usual rush hour pace.
