Not only is the baby boomer generation anticipated to drive the travel market but Cochrane recently made a top Canadian destination choice amongst the group.

With the Canadian Tourism Research Institute (CTRI) stating that baby boomers are anticipated to spend roughly $35 billion annually, a survey of  1,000 Canadians revealed top destinations they’d recommend. Results revealed the seasoned travellers favoured coastal views, good wine, and a dash of nostalgia.

Cochrane was listed as number twelve on the list and Jennifer Cueller, the writer states, "Given the trends we discovered in our survey, we found that baby boomers love cities that offer a generous sense of hospitality, along with good food and new adventures. For these reasons, we knew we had to highlight Cochrane as a top destination. With places like MacKay's Ice Cream and Yamnuska Wolfdog Sanctuary, there's an excellent blend of nostalgia and adventure.
