It may be March Madness for high school basketball, but the basketball season will continue afterwards for Cobras varsity girls head coach Randy Peron.

For the eighth time, he has been named as a coach for Team Alberta for the Canadian Basketball National Championships. Recently he was named as an assistant coach for the U15 girls' team that will be competing against other provinces and territories in Victoria, B.C., Aug. 5-10.

"I'm looking forward to working with head coach Robin Fleckenstein," says Peron.

Peron was a guest coach for the first selection camp in January and the final selections will be made Apr. 13-14.

Peron has been either head or assistant coach for seven previous Alberta basketball teams competing at the national level. Last year he helped coach the U15 boys to a fourth-place finish in the Kamloops, AB national tournament.
