Cochrane's Dillon Dube has been named to Team WHL in the upcoming Canada-Russia junior series.

The WHL is hosting the first two of a six-game series featuring regional league teams of Canadian National Junior Team candidates competing against the Russian National Junior Team. The puck drops in Moose Jaw on Nov. 6, before continuing on to Swift Current the next day. The series then heads to Ontario and Quebec for two games in each province.

The series is an integral part of the identification process for Team Canada prior to the IIHF World Junior Hockey Championship.  Dillon is aspiring to return to the national junior team and participated in a junior development camp in August.

A total of 29 players from last season’s event competed in the 2017 IIHF World Junior Championship in Toronto and Montreal including Dube and 14 other CHL players on Team Canada. They won silver.

Dube, 19, has appeared in seven games so far this season for the Rockets and has three goals and eight assists with a -3 +/-.
