The Cochrane Rangers Soccer Club has extended its registration deadline to Mar. 8 in preparation for the outdoor season.

Believing the original Mar. 1 deadline came too early, James Darby says they’re giving people more time to count themselves in. It still gives the club enough time to submit the information required by the Calgary United Soccer Association (CUSU) for the upcoming season.

The Rangers have Men’s Open, Over 35 and over 45 teams and Women’s Open and Over 40 teams competing in CUSA leagues. There’s also recreational play offered.

Darby has recently been named the Men’s Open team manager and looks forward to the season ahead. He believes the Rangers can field a top-notch competitive team in CUSA. Last season they competed in the 3B division.

“We’ll aspire to win cups and to be promoted into higher divisions with the ultimate goal of being in Calgary’s premiere league,” says Darby.

The team normally hits the field twice a week, once for practice, the other for a league game. League games are played on both the Rangers Field on George Fox Drive and other pitches in the Calgary area.
