Bringing family members to Canada is a precise and challenging process riddled with many timelines and ins and outs.

Those seeking the latest details on Family Reunion Sponsorship are encouraged to attend a free information session on Wed. Sept. 5 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the FCSS office, 209 2nd Ave. W.

Fleeha Admad, program coordinator for Rocky View Immigrant Services, a branch of the Calgary Catholic Immigration Society (CCIS), says there's been a high demand for accurate and current information for those wanting to bring family members to Canada.

"There has been a lot of inquiries about it and a lot of people need information on how to bring their family from their country to here, whether it be parents, siblings, relatives, spouses or dependent children."

Sherrisa Celis, of CCIS, will be leading the session and offers expertise in the process.

"I have been working with her for almost 10 years and she has always done an outstanding job in getting the correct and updated version to all clients."

During the presentation, details will be provided on how and when you can sponsor your family, who's eligible and under what circumstance. A question and answer period will follow.

"The frame for this is very tight so it's very important a person has the correct information on how to go about it," explains Admad.

While pre-registration is preferred for planning purposes, all are welcome.

For more information or to pre-register, you can contact Admad at 403-604-2377 or email [email protected]

"It's a great opportunity for those who have questions to come out and get clarification."
