There remained zero known active cases in the Town of Cochrane and one active case in the greater Cochrane-Springbank geographical area.

In today's update, Dr. Deena Hinshaw, chief medical officer of health, reported the number of cases has dropped slightly to 1,090 from the 1,125 reported last Friday. A total of 365 of these are in the Calgary zone.

But there was also an increase in identified cases. The number of confirmed cases rose by over 100 on both Friday and Saturday before dropping to 48 on Sunday.

"There is some irony in the fact that my cautious optimism last week was followed by three days with new case counts over 100," said Dr. Hinshaw. "It's a reminder that COVID continues to be with us, and we cannot turn our backs on this virus."

She reported five more deaths, bringing that total to 213. The average age of people taken by the virus is 83.

Sixty-six Albertans are currently hospitalized, and 14 are in ICU.
