Watch out, Bisons! The Cochrane Generals are finding their stride.

The Generals have entered their bye week after grabbing five of six possible points last weekend, including one against the Okotoks Bisons.

The Bisons won that by the skins of their teeth with a powerplay goal in overtime.

"We should have beat Okotoks," says Gens head coach Kurtis Jones.

"Whatever the outcome is, the outcome is, but I believe we played pretty darn well."

The Gens bookend the weekend play by dominating the Lomond Lakers, 7-1, on Oct. 18, then rocking the new Rams, 8-0. That game also earned Erik Garber his second shut out in five starts this season.

Jones says the Gens are a pretty tight group. They continue to carry 24 on their roster and have several players sit each week. He's comfortable inserting rotating any player into the lineup.

"It doesn't matter who's in the lineup, we all just gel."

Getting a bye this weekend is well deserved after playing nine games in three weeks.

"We needed it," says Jones. "We have a lot of guys who are nursing minor injuries so taking off the week is pretty good for us."

"We have some things to work on and will use the bye week to hammer them out."

The Gens may not be on the ice this week but their players will be on the block on Saturday, Oct. as part of the club's annual Pub Night fundraiser.

The most entertaining part of the evening is the live auction of the players

The Pub Night being held at The Venue and only a few tickets remained at this writing.
