The Cochrane area truly has some amazing gems and one of those is Rocky Mountain Flying Trapeze in Springbank. CochraneNow's Lauren Meister and Eric Ruttle got the opportunity to try the high-flying sport!

Rocky Mountain Flying Trapeze is the only school of its kind in Alberta boasting a rig 25 feet off the ground.

"Our school is definitely open to everybody six and up and all skill levels," says trapeze trainer and board member Charmaine Boyle.

The experience began with a quick tutorial on the ground.

"We make sure everybody gets to do something on their first time out. We'll start you off doing what we call ground school where we'll teach you a trick close to the ground where you're nice and safe and you feel secure."

"After you've learned what you're going to do, we'll send you up to the top of the rig so you can recreate that same trick in the air."

The group of coaches quickly explained it not about having an extreme level of strength to be able to do tricks, it's the momentum of the swing that does the majority of the lifting.
