The 4th annual Jumpstart Games was another huge success.

The Cochrane chapter was able to give back almost $53,000 in 2015 and since 2005 just shy of $72,000 to help fund youth sports. The free day of activity brought out 300 kids, promoting the importance of physical literacy.

Canadian Tire, Assistant General Manager, Chris Birch says last year they achieved a huge milestone across Canada.

"Last year we achieved over one million children involved in sport and physical activity and last year alone we supported over 206,000 kids."

Birch adds highlights of the day were the bouncy castles and the Fun Van, but the real joy comes from seeing the kids smile from being physically active.

Promoting physical literacy is what it's all about.

"It's absolutely important, it starts there. A kids foundation is built off of that. Through sport they learn so many different life lessons that are important to them becoming really great ambassadors throughout their life."

Birch adds he is hopeful they will accommodate 400 youth in 2017 as Jumpstart Games continues to grow.
