The Cochrane Cobras may have been number two on the regular season, but they were number one where it counts.

The Cobras football team has won their seventh straight Tier III ASAA Provincial Football Championship with a 15-7 win against the Holy Rosary Raiders of Lloydminster at Commonwealth Stadium in Edmonton.

The Cobras took a 4-0 lead in the first half in the defensive battle.

Shaun Clazie scored the lone touchdown for the Cobras, and the rest of the points came off the foot of kicker Kylian Beaupre, including two field goals.

It's their sixth straight win in the provincial final against the Raiders.

The Cobras already held the record for most consecutive provincial high school football championships before the game and now have two more than any other team in Alberta.

This is the Cobras 18th provincial championship, 16 in Tier III and two in Tier II.

Watch for more.
