Two suspects are both facing 17 charges after being discovered in a Morley residence unlawfully with a loaded handgun on Nov. 30.

Morley RCMP discovered two stolen vehicles, as well as a stolen licence plate on a separate vehicle outside of a residence. They confirmed with Chiniki First Nation officials that the home was supposed to be unoccupied because the owner had passed away.

Upon entry, officers located the two suspects in the residence and discovered a loaded handgun. 

Lillian Dodich, 25, of Calgary was charged with 17 offenses, including being unlawfully in a dwelling house, possession of stolen property over $5,000, unsafe storage of a firearm, and unauthorized possession of a firearm.

Chad McKinnon, 38, of Cold Lake, AB, was also charged with 17 offences, including three counts of failure to comply with a probation order, being unlawfully in a dwelling house, identity fraud, possession of stolen property over $5,000, and possession of a controlled substance

Dodich and McKinnon were both remanded into custody and will be appearing in Cochrane Provincial Court on Dec. 8.
