The town's social recovery task force (SRTF) wants to hear specifics from residents about how they have been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

An online survey has been launched on the town's Let's Talk Cochrane social platform to gain insight from residents.

Kim Krawec, manager of Cochrane Family and Community Support Services,  says the social well-being of the community is important.

“As we look toward recovery, it’s important we keep our community and the services they need top of mind to ensure we maintain quality of life,” explains Krawec. “The work of this task force is critical, not only to the health of Cochrane in the short-term but also to creating a sustainable future for all residents for years to come.”

A series of questions explore the impact COVID-19 has had on residents' connectivity to the community, the mental and physical stresses they face, and if it has caused any financial strain.

The survey results and continued work of the SRTF will help the town and local agencies support vulnerable and at-risk populations by identifying and responding to emerging needs.

The data gathered will also help FCSS apply for funding from other sources.
