Tristan Ripplinger completed the Cochrane Generals comeback win over the Coaldale Copperheads on Jan. 28 with 34 seconds remaining to snap a three-game losing streak.

The Copperheads took a 2-0 lead in the first 10 minutes of play, but by the end of the second, the Gens had tied it up. The Copperheads regained a two-goal lead by 7:18 of the third.

The Gens powered back to tie the score before the winner came off of the stick of Rippingler in the dying moments of a powerplay.

Head coach Kurtis Jones says it was an important confidence builder for the team.

"We needed a character win like that, one to bring our spirits back up," says Jones. "A lot of guys are feeling down and thinking they're underperforming, but we've actually played some good hockey. The guys just haven't capitalized."

It was a two-point night for Riley Hopper, with a goal and assist, and Joel Klassen, with two assists. Other scorers were Connor Stephenson, Ethan Mateice, and Jamal Kalaf.  Diago Coelho and Patrick Forde notched the other assists.
