The Cochrane & Area Events Society’s (CAES) annual Stuff-a-Bus event is a go!

Held on December 11, 2021, starting at 10 a.m. at Canadian Tire in Cochrane, the event looks to stuff buses with toys, gifts, and monetary donations in support of the Cochrane Activettes’ Share Your Christmas Hamper Program.

Both Southland Transportation and COLT buses will be on site for Cochranites to bring their unwrapped gifts and help make sure the vehicles are overflowing with donations.

CAES President, Erika Richards says that everyone who comes down to donate can get a photo with a special guest. “Our thank you is we offer a free photo with Santa for the families. Last year we held it in the sort of quiet waiting area of Canadian Tire and we're going to be doing that again this year because it was such a great location last year.”

“This year we have to be COVID conscious again, so Santa is going to be peeking at people decorating the tree in their homes.”

While all donations are greatly appreciated, Richards hopes the pre-teens see a little extra attention this year. “Sometimes they get forgotten with all the cute little dolls and Polly Pockets. The tweens and teens get missed, so definitely focus on them a little bit.”

“Hockey sticks and sort of outdoor stuff for the older kids is always great.”

The Cochrane & Area Events Society is encouraging everyone to sign up on their website to book a time slot with Santa before arriving.
