Local RCMP are implementing changes at detachments across the province in light of recent developments and evolving information surrounding the spread of COVID-19.

The measures are being taken to ensure the safety of both residents and employees and will be evaluated on a regular basis, as well as notify the public when normal business resumes.

Front counter services that deal with reports of non-injury vehicle collisions, providing statements and fingerprinting for Criminal Records checks are suspended at this time to help maintain social distancing. While the RCMP’s response to critical and emergency matters won't be affected. The RCMP is reminding the public to continue to call 911 in those emergency situations.

They ask that residents phone ahead before proceeding to a detachment, to verify which services will be available, as well they remind the public to stay at home if they are experiencing any symptoms in line with COVID-19.
