Tickets are going fast for the Cochrane Generals Pub Night being held on Nov. 13 at the Venue Bar & Grill.

It's the first pub night since the beginning of the pandemic, and in the past has been a sold-out affair. With only 200 tickets available this time around, it would be wise to pick them up soon.

Tickets are $30 and can be purchased from players, coaches, board members, and through the team's website and social media. A limited number will be available at this Sunday's home game.

The evening is a chance to raise funds and spirits for our town's highly-competitive junior hockey club. It features food, live music, a silent auction, and the always entertaining auction of Gens players.

Club president Rick Richards says the players' auction is a highlight. Those who successfully bid for a player do get something in exchange if they so wish.

"They basically get three to four hours of their service," he says. "So whether they need their yard cleaned up or they need something cleaned up inside the house, or help with fixing stuff, that sort of thing, that's what the players are there for."

A large number of great silent auction items have been donated by local businesses in support of the club. Richards says more items are welcome.

"We do have some amazing prizes already, even a trip somewhere with VIP service," says Richards.

Those wishing to contribute can email president@cochranegenerals.com.

COVID protocols will all be in place. Proof of vaccination will be required or a valid negative rapid test.

For a chuckle, a video flashback to the 2018 player auction led by Richards and the quick-witted Brandon Bain can be found here.
