The second annual Parade of Lights is coming up this weekend but in order for the event to happen there needs to be some volunteers.

Organizer Stephenie Shelstad says they need about 16 volunteers and right now they're at one.

Shelstad says they need volunteers for "Mainly barricades right now, so we have eight barricades that we need people to be on. Our preference is to have two adults but if we can have one and an older teen we're fine with that also. It's just to get those barricades covered because without that we can't close the street."

She says there will be face painters, sparkle tattoos and some roaming characters at the family-friendly event.

Shelstad says they're going to close off downtown at around 3 pm and the parade starts at 6 pm.

The Activettes will be walking the route collecting food as well as new unused toys for their Share your Christmas campaign.

Nine floats are registered so far but she says there's still time for people to put in floats.

Businesses can put in a float for $100 and non-profits can enter for free.

The same organizers that brought us Cochrane Light Up are putting on this event as well.
