You can mark your calendars for Sunday, November 28, which is the official new date for the Cochrane Community Awards (CCA).

After being postponed for several months due to the pandemic, the awards ceremony will be held in person this year, with COVID restrictions in place.

Attendance will be restricted to nominees, their supporter, sponsors of the event as well as hosts.

The annual awards program recognizes outstanding local residents, community leaders, businesses, organizations and schools that help to make Cochrane a great place to live.

It's overseen by a committee of local representatives as well as the Cochrane and District Chamber of Commerce and the Town of Cochrane.

This year thirty-eight local businesses, community members, and organizations have been nominated for a CCA. The awards consist of 13 categories, including the prestigious Order of Cochrane which is presented by Cochrane’s mayor and Town Council.

Chair of the Cochrane Community Awards, Valerie McCracken says that the broader community will still have the opportunity to share in the excitement of this year's awards ceremony.

"The community will have an opportunity to share in the excitement of the awards ceremony by viewing the post-event highlights video which will be released after the ceremony," explains McCracken. "The video will capture the fanfare and celebration of the awards ceremony as each nominee is celebrated."

The Cochrane Community Awards will be presented Sunday, November 28 at the Cochrane RancheHouse, and the event will be emceed by 91.5 CochraneNow's Lauren Meister and Eric Ruttle.
