The owner of Mr. Mikes handed over a nice sized cheque to community fundraising campaign 'Rock the Waves'.

Steve Bauer owner of Mr. Mikes presented a cheque to Mayor Ivan Brooker and Suzanne Gaida, Senior Manager of Community Services, for $6000.

Bauer says Mr. Mikes is all about community.

"We like to give back to the community so we have been donating to various events, obviously we have to be a little bit selective as there is only so many advertising dollars to go around, but we like to support anything local."

The money was raised throughout various opening initiatives.

"During our opening events we had what we called dry runs which we invited people in to sample our food and we asked them to leave donations or even all of their tips they left for the servers went to this donation fund. In addition during our grand opening we donated 10% of all of our sales to Rock the Waves fund."

Rock the Waves was chosen because Bauer's believes in supporting local initiatives with in the Town of Cochrane, and giving back to the community.
