There was a bit of confusion this afternoon with the mask bylaw status in the Town of Cochrane, but we are still holding steady at nine active COVID-19 cases which means the mask bylaw has not been enacted.

According to the bylaw, we need 10 active COVID-19 cases in Cochrane.

During initial bylaw discussions there was talk about the bylaw including the Cochrane/Springbank geographical area but the final approval of the bylaw only included Cochrane cases.

There's been a significant jump in cases in Rocky View County, which is now sitting at 21.

As long as we stay below 10 active COVID-19 cases in Cochrane, we will not be required to wear masks in public places.
