Cochranites will be happy to hear that The Cochrane Farmers' Market officially kicks off this weekend.

The well known local "Market at the Ranche" will have a different look and feel this year, inclusive of its new name - "Market by the Bow."

This Saturday (June 6) residents can head to the spacious Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre parking lot, where they'll find the same homegrown, local products that we love and look forward to.

Many of the social elements we have all come to enjoy on a typical Saturday outing to the market can't take place this year, but with new implementations- residents can still shop safely and locally.

With extended hours this year, the market will run from 9 am - 2 pm, with the first hour designated for the safety and convenience of seniors in the community.

There will also be a drive-thru zone for pre-paid orders, allowing residents to pick up products without roaming the market.

While we will certainly miss the buskers, musicians and face painters this year, we can still enjoy quality, local products, while supporting our local farmers.

As always, admission is free, and weekly vendor lists will be posted here every Friday.
