For the sixth year in a row the Cochrane Vision Theatre is presenting its Christmas pantomime.

This years community theatre production is called 'Goody Two Shoes', the story revloves around a young peasant girl who finds magical shoes when she and her friends are out looking for firewood in the forest. When she tries them on all her wishes suddenly come true, but unbenounced to her, an evil sorcoress her wants to take back her shoes.

Anita McDonald, Cochrane Vision Theatre, Vice President/Director, says pantomime is a different type of theatre experience that is fun for the whole family.

"Pantomime is a British style of theatre where it's always based on a fairy tale. There's slapstick, there's jokes. The kids get all riled up because they can boo at the bad guys and cheer on the good guys and talk with the actors on stage."

The show is very interactive with the audience and the actors work on their ability to banter back and forth.

Anita got involved with the theatre two years ago, she says what she really likes about it is that it incorporates all types of genres of art.

"We've got dancing in it. We've got singing in it, funny acting, serious acting. It's a nice combination, as well as they're interactive with the audience which is something very different from most theatre styles."

The show plays at the Cochrane RancheHouse Theatre and runs Dec 2-11.
