The Rocky View Knights were defeated by the Calgary Mountaineers Thursday, July 28th.

Round 1 of the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League playoffs saw the Mounties take the best of 5 series in 4 games.

With both teams splitting the first 2 games, the Mounties won game 3 on Sunday, July 4th.

The Knights hoped to force a 5th game with a win in game 4, but a strong performance from Mounties goaltender Andrew Houghten did a good job to silence their offence.

An even first period saw the Mounties lead 4-2, but by the end of the second, they had extended their lead to 7-3.

Unable to capitalize on several Mounties penalties in the 3rd, the Knights would fall 10-5. Forward Steven Schorn put up a 2 goal performance in the 3rd, but it was not enough.

The Mounties will go on to face the St. Albert Miners in a best of 7 provincial series.

Winner of the two will go on to the Presidents Cup.
